Coimbatore Mayor P. Rajkumar on Saturday handed over a cheque for Rs. 44,00,428 to revive the defunct Thudialur Railway Station. Assistant Commercial Manager Venkatasubramanian received the cheque. The funds will be used to provide drinking water, toilet, lights, platforms at the station. The revival of the station would benefit more than 4,000 passengers a day. When passenger trains were first introduced on the Coimbatore – Mettuppalayam section, passengers had asked for reviving all the old stations. The Coimbatore Railway Struggle Committee has initiated measures with corporate houses and local bodies to take steps for reviving the Pudupalayam and Veerapandi stations as well....
